There are two major categories under The Peacebright Awards Program.
Youth Ambassador for Peace Award
This program engages young adults at the college and university level of education to participate in a public speaking competition on a peace theme, such as “A Culture of Peace”. The first prize winner will be recognized as a Youth Ambassador for Peace in that calendar year. The top three winners will be presented with certificates, and will be given a chance to publish their work in Peacebright publications as well as serve as an Intern with The Peacebright Institute, if they choose to do so.
The Peacebright Legacy Award
There are two classifications to this awards program: an American honoree and an International honoree, each year. Nominations and selections of awardees are based on a track record of more than a decade’s work on a mission of peace. The honorees are nominated by the public; and awarded based on a clear majority of nominations received from the public and the Peacebright Board of Directors.
Peacebright Legacy awards are designed to promote visibility to thought leadership, and effective peacemaking and peacebuilding mechanisms. The overall purpose is to promote Peace as an expansive culture of humanity.
